Cally has toured up to 80 schools providing PSHE sessions combining a unique formula of live performance with a message that inspires students in their personal development and helps teachers to fulfil their statutory requirements. These sessions are mainly targeted for years 7-13 and help pupils grow into healthy young people ready to face the challenges of tomorrow. Her unique approach utilises her LIVE PERFORMANCE and her ability to engage young people to deliver a PSHE message. Plus they're hearing it from someone who has very recently walked in their shoes, which helps to create an immediate connection.
Cally holds morning or afternoon sessions each lasting one hour, but can be tailored to your specific timetable needs.The program is suitable for all secondary school students, and is modified for different age groups. We find the sessions work best when they are being delivered to groups of around 200 pupils, but we can accommodate greater or smaller numbers to suit your needs!
Mental Health - Cally will discuss mental health and resilience, the causes of mental health problems (stress at school, relationships etc), a time she had her own mental health issues and who to turn to for help and the importance of speaking up if you are struggling.
Careers - Cally will discuss the importance of working hard at school, why education is so important, how education impacts later life and the options pupils have after school as well as discussing her own personal stories, career journey and achievements.
The sessions typically end with a question and answer session giving the students the opportunity to ask Cally any personalised questions they may have. There will also be an opportunity for the students to get autographs and have a photo taken with Cally if the school permits.
Following on from her successful Nationwide tour of over 80 secondary schools, Cally has launched an exciting project, introducing teenagers to the fulfilling world of songwriting. Whilst touring schools, Cally found from speaking to other teachers that there was a real interest in their students learning about songwriting and the music industry at a beginner’s level, and that’s when Cally decided to create a unique songwriting workshop especially for schools.
This series of MASTERCLASSES, held within schools throughout the UK and as privately run workshops, will see your young participants learning from scratch how a hit song is created. Brainstorming themes, creating melodies and the layering of instruments and voices – all of these topics will be looked at during the session.
